Accessibility and parking

By public transport
  • Get on the bus with busnumber 45 (which goes to Maaseik).
  • Step off at the ‘Koning Boudewijnlaan’ stop.
  • Cross the street, take the stairs down and follow the cycle path to the garden entrance

On Sundays and holidays you can also use the city tram service to the Garden.

By bicycle

  • The Japanese garden is right at number 97 of the Limburg cycle route network.

By car

  • Free parking at Gouverneur Verwilghensingel 23 or at Koning Boudewijnlaan.

Wheelchair accessibility

All paths are wide and wheelchair accessible. Still need a hand? Let us know and we will help you right away.

  • Use the alternative path to bypass the stepping stones at the waterfall.
  • Book one of the two available wheelchairs ahead if necessary: this makes your visit more comfortable.

Dogs allowed?

  • Dogs are not allowed in the Japanese garden.

Opening times

  • Mondays: closed
  • from Tuesday to Sunday: 10:00 to 17:00 (last entry at 16.30)

Also open on national holidays (except Easter) from March to October from 13PM to 17PM.
